Why did he send this text and then change his mind?

He may have been a bit drunk, and has for whatever reason changed his mind. Maybe he uses alcohol to give him confidence. Maybe he's worried he was wearing beer goggles - it's happened to all of us. Or maybe he's just a spineless git. Whichever way you look at it, you probably don't want to see him again...
