Will smoking pot help open up the airwaves during bronchitis?

Obviously I know its not legal to use recreationaly but I'm speaking of it for medical purposes as its legal where I'm from for that use. Does smoking pot help relieve bronchitis and open up your airwaves. I've heard that it does help. And I know long term effects and so on so I don't need to hear about them thank you. I just want to take it to relieve my illness until it pes.
