Does Hip Roll dancing Help tone the midsection???

I just had a baby two months ago and i have been on Atkins for a week to burn fat in my midsection..i also had been eatting better and my stomache is back to normal. The only problem is that i want more definition in my abs and hips because i never had a really y midsection but i can tell i'm on my way! Anyways i just started trying to learn how to hip roll and i feel burning when i do it for long periods of time. So my question is does hip rolling tone and tighten the midsection? Is this a good everyday workout or exercise? thnx in advance!
