If you have been banned from a group how do you contact the moderator to rejoin (after 2 yr absence)?

I first joined a Yahoo group 2 years ago and didn't realize that contacting the individual group members about a cottage rental would be considered "SPAM". I was immediately banned from the group which is designed to give away reuseable free stuff. I have so many things (furniture) to give away and can't get back into the group nor can I contact the Moderator to see if perhaps a 2 yr absence is enough to allow that person to give me a second chance. Any suggestions?
